Today - August 7, 2017 - Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer officially proclaimed it Equality Florida Day in celebration of our two decades of social justice work on behalf of LGBTQ Floridians. Last week, President Trump tweeted that transgender individuals will no longer be able to serve “in any capacity” in the U.S. Military. The tweets have received backlash from civil rights organizations, active duty and veteran transgender servicemembers, elected officials, and military personnel over the past week.
